You're an independent Spotter, not an employee — you decide when you work, which jobs you take and what you charge. We bring the customers, the booking and the payment.

Good to know.

Am I an employee of 1Spot?
No — you're an independent Spotter. You choose your jobs, your hours and your rates, and you can say no to any job. 1Spot connects you with customers, handles the booking and collects payment.
How do customers choose me?
When customers book, they see approved Spotters for that service with their rate, bio, rating and jobs done. Good reviews and a fair rate get you picked more. We also match you directly when customers ask us to choose.
How and when do I get paid?
The customer pays 1Spot after signing off on your work, and 1Spot pays you by Interac e-transfer — your rate minus the matching fee. You never collect money at the door.
Can I change my rates or profile?
Yes. Call or text us any time and we'll update them for future jobs. Jobs you've already accepted keep the pay you agreed to. You can also hide your profile whenever you like.
What about taxes?
Because you're independent, you're responsible for your own income tax (and for HST once your self-employed income passes $30,000 a year). Like other platforms, 1Spot reports Spotters' earnings to the CRA each year and sends you a copy, so keep your own records too.
Do I need tools or a car?
No tools — customers provide equipment and supplies. A car helps for some jobs (moving, junk runs), but lots of jobs are close by and transit-friendly.
What if something goes wrong on a job?
Call or text the office at 647.794.5275 right away. Never do licensed trade work (electrical, plumbing, gas, structural), even if a customer asks.
