What we collect

When you use the booking, “Become a Spotter” or “I'm interested” forms, we collect what you type in: your name, phone number, email address, neighbourhood, and the job, availability or message details you provide. Spotter applications also include the hourly rates you set, an optional profile bio, and whether you want your profile shown. We don't use accounts, advertising cookies, or tracking scripts on this site.

The Job check-in tool is used by Spotters and customers to confirm arrival and completion for a specific booking. When it's used, we collect the check-in code, the time of arrival and completion, and — only if your device's location permission is granted — an approximate GPS location at that moment; declining never blocks check-in. At completion we also collect a customer name and a drawn signature with a confirmation checkbox, used solely as a record that the customer signed off.

Spotter profiles

If a Spotter agrees, their profile is shown to customers on the booking page once they're approved: first name and last initial, neighbourhood, rates, bio, average rating and number of jobs done. Phone numbers, email addresses, full names and background-check details are never shown. Spotters can ask us to hide their profile at any time.

Ratings you leave

When you sign off on a completed job you can rate the Spotter from one to five stars and add a short comment. We store the rating, any tags you tick and your comment against that booking and the Spotter. The average rating and the most common tags can appear on the Spotter's profile; your name and comment are never published.

The jobs board

Open jobs may be listed publicly so Spotters can express interest. Listings show only the type of work, neighbourhood, date, estimated hours, estimated pay and a short staff-written note — never your name, contact details, address or your own description of the job.

How it's used

Form details go directly to our team. We use them to match, schedule and manage your booking or application, including sharing a customer's name, address and contact details with the Spotter booked for their job, and a Spotter's first name with their customer. Spotter rates are used to show prices and match jobs. Check-in data is used only to verify that the work was carried out as scheduled and to resolve any dispute about it.

How it's stored

Submissions are kept in a private record and 1Spot Work's internal scheduling system, accessible only to 1Spot Work staff, who sign in with two-step verification. Signature images are stored on our server in a location that isn't publicly browsable. We don't sell or share your information with third parties beyond what's needed to complete your booking, verify a Spotter's identity and background, pay Spotters, or meet legal reporting duties such as the CRA's digital platform reporting.

Your choices

Email info@1spotwork.com or call 647.794.5275 to ask what we have on file about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Where we must keep job and payment records for accounting or tax reasons, we remove your personal details and keep only the numbers.
