Every Spotter, every time

Before their first job.

Nobody is placed on a job until all of this is done.

1

Application & call

We review every application and speak with every applicant about the work they'll do.

2

Photo ID verified

A government photo ID is checked against the name on their application.

3

Vulnerable sector check

The most thorough police check available to the public in Canada, used for people who work with seniors, children and vulnerable people. It must pass before any job.

4

Check date on record

We record the date of each Spotter's check, and you can see the month on their profile.

Your requirements

Set your own minimums.

When you book, open Your requirements for who comes. Only Spotters who meet every one are shown, and if you ask us to pick, we follow them too.

Book a Spotter

  • Recent check: a vulnerable sector check dated in the last 12 months.
  • Top Spotters only: 10 or more rated jobs averaging 4.8 stars or higher.
  • Minimum rating: at least 4.5 stars from signed-off jobs.
  • Experience with us: at least 10 jobs done through 1Spot.
  • A vehicle: for moves, junk runs and supply runs.
  • Anything else: add a note ("comfortable with pets", a language) and we'll match on it where we can.
On the job

A record from arrival
to sign-off.

You know who's coming

Your Spotter's first name, profile, rating and check date before the visit.

Check-in on arrival

Spotters check in with your job's code, so the office knows they're on site.

Your sign-off

The job isn't done until you sign on their phone. You rate them; only signed-off customers can.

No money at the door

Spotters never take cash, card or e-transfer. You pay 1Spot after sign-off.

Something feels wrong? Ask the Spotter to stop, and call or text us at 647.794.5275. In an emergency, call 911 first. Don't sign off until it's sorted. How we handle complaints
